THE ROYAL FAMILY
The royal family is the head of the entire pack. These are the wolves that first created the pack and have been in it for generations upon generation and the only way they can lose their power within the pack is if the leading royal (the king OR queen, depending on who holds the dominance or the two) is challenged and defeated by death.
I. King/Queen: In most situations, one of the two will be the true leader and will stand above the other, even if it isn't by much. Most of the time, they are not equal, and the highest authority will be to the one that holds the dominance. These wolves will have full power and control over the pack. II. Grand Prince/Princess: This is either the eldest son or daughter of the king and queen, at whom is now old enough - at least 4 years - to stand in their mother or father's position when they fall. They are the next in line for the leading of the pack. There will only be one grand prince/princess, as it will always be the oldest. If there is ever two, the strongest will be chosen, even if it means a small brawl. III. Archduke/duchess: Think of this like an alpha and beta story. The king/queen is the alpha and the archduke/duchess is the beta. If there are no grand princes or princesses and one of the royal leaders falls, the archduke or duchess will take the role. If a grand prince or princess takes the place, archduke/duchesses may be replaced by in whom the grands trust. IV. Prince/Princess: Even though they are not old enough to claim the title of queen or king just yet, they still carry the royal blood and will eventually fall in the line. Even if the Archduke's blood is the lead for a bit, it is only temporary. If a prince/ess comes of age, they will replace the duke instantly. VI. Lords/Ladies: Children of the Archduke. Though they aren't as high and mighty as the prince or princess, they still have a high standing in the pack. As well, most will grow up with the children of the king/queen, and will continue to have strong bonds and hold their parents positioning when they come of age. However, some won't, but will still stand in the Viceroy's group.
THE VICEROY'S
A Viceroy originally in our history books would be the honorable members that the king would give his land to. However, in this pack, the Viceroy's are simply honorable colt's and fillies that have earned a very high stance, just below the royal family. While they aren't carrying as much power, each Viceroy is giving a specific duty in the pack, as well as there very own advantages. However, there is no ranking in this category. They are all above the Subordinates, but all under the Royal family. All wolves in this range will have the right to breed as long as the other wolf is inside the Viceroy's as well. They must also have permission from the royal family.
VII. Executioner: Usually a male, but can be a female, this wolf is one of violence. He/she is extremely loyal to the queen/king and will do whatever they command. Their main job is to be the one who punishes the wolves who betray the pack. For the most part they do exactly as their title states - execute. But, in the rare situation that the criminal only receives exile, this wolf gets the glory of chasing them away - leaving as many scars as they wish as long as the criminal can survive. VIII. Leading Knight & Spy: Both of which ranks will need a lead. A knight needs a leader in battle if the king/queen will not fight, and the group of spies will need a leader on a 'hunt." Only the most trusted and valued subordinates will be allowed to lead and there will only be one until they are deceased or retired, though they can be challenged. IX. Assassins: This is the only category in the Viceroy's that will have more than one wolf, but will usually only reach about five. This category are the wolves that have no fear in killing others or facing a challenge that could lead to their own demise. They are dauntless, stealthy, and like shadows in the night. They love the hunt - except theirs is for their own kind. These wolves will do the queen/king's bidding and on their own. They hunt down wolves that the royal family wants executed and do it all on their own, then return with a nasty little surprise to prove that the deed is done. Each assassin will work individually on each case unless it is a larger hunt.
THE SUBORDINATES
The Subordinates make up the largest majority of the pack. They are simply the lowest category, but one of the most important. They take care of the pack with protection and food, often following a lead. However, they do not have breeding rights unless they prove to the royal family that they are capable of serving life-long purpose and respect.
X. Spies: Basically, these wolves are the messengers of the pack. When the royals feel that a rival pack or a band of rogues are getting a little too close to the territory, these wolves are the first to either notify the knights if there is time, or take on the fight if their numbers are strong enough. Pretty much, they sneak around and deliver news back to their pack, or on occasions keep intruders off the land. Made up of all kinds of wolves. XI. Knights: These are the guards of the pack. For the most part, they will patrol the land on occasion to make sure a rogue band isn't too close or a single matured male who can challenge the family isn't getting too close. However, they are instantly put into action when the spies catch on to an ambush or threat to the pack. They are the soul protectors of both the royals and the pack members. XII. Hunters: Simply as it is said - these wolves hunt for the pack an will provide food. Their duty is to make sure that the wolves always have a good supply to keep themselves strong and healthy. XIII. Healers: There is usually only two healers - mentor and apprentice. However, there can be more if someone is able to carry out the task. These wolves are very intelligent in the means or herbs and healing of injuries. They take care of the pack and heal the sick or wounded. XIV. Pups & Guardians: Ranking pretty much the same, the pups are the offspring of the pack and the guardians are those that look after them until they are able to take on a full rank at the age of two. If a guardian is chosen, they are that for life, but may take on a lower rank when there are no pups to be tended to. XV. Omega: Heard as often as the term Alpha, but very much the opposite, the Omegas are the lowest ranking members of the pack. However they are very important. While they serve no purpose to the needs of the pack, they are used as stress relievers are usually playful enough to keep the pack calm and cool in times of stress.
